Default Getting reardy to buy

We're getting ready to order our carpert set for our 78, what i need to know is the heat shielding and sound deadener, that I see good enough for the carpet underlayment?,The stock underlayment seems much thicker, like foamboard insulation on a bldg. Also i have this foam insulation on the rt.hand and lft. hand side of the seats going up the side of the door jams. Please any help steering us in the rt. direction would be greatly appreciated.------jimmy

Sound deadeners don't stop heat; and insulation material won't deaden sound very well. Installing both would make a pretty thick underlayment for your new carpet, so you might have to make a choice. You may want to consider not bothering with heat insulation in the storage area of your car...there really isn't much heat that comes up through that area. It has lots of airflow and has only the exhaust system to produce any heat under it. Maybe put the heat insulation in the front and the sound deadener in the storage area???
