On my '80 L48 the A/C the cool air blows on my feet. Can't find the problem. Thought the mechanical door connected to the Cold---Hot lever on the console determines the "blow" from the top or floor. It seems to be working OK but nothing I've tried changes the air flow to the normal top vents.
Is there a vacuum switch...or other that causes this?? Any troubleshooting advice would be appreciated.

There is a cable from the cold/hot lever that attaches to the door. Maybe it has come unattached.
I know on a 72 there are vacuum relays for a couple of vent functions.
There are also about 5 small vacuum hoses connected to the controller wheel which are used to switch between heat, 2 A/C settings, defroster and vent.
Other late C3 owners will be able to be more specific.
Thanks for the feedback. I'm sure the "door" controlled by the Cold--Hot lever is working because I can hear it. Don't have a control wheel like earlier designs. Figure it might be a vacuum issue but don't have a schematic of the vacuum system that connects to the A/C...if any.
Found a vacuum schematic on the A/C-Heating system from Corvette America (many thanks for the online availability). After troubleshooting the lines I found the leak at the main hose at the firewall grommet. Fixed the A/C vent problem and improved overall vacuum in ALL systems...now my lights pop up really fast.
Thanks for all the help.
