Have a 1971 Can anyone help me figuIre out what motor i have. The car must have been am Lt1 cause I found the ignition amp in the correct place and wiring harness. The stamp on the engine pad CEOA218. Stamped behind aND bove that are the numbers 62 at a slight angle. it must be high horse cause it has push rod guide plates and screw in studs. I have not removed the oil pan. It is an 010 block.

Here's a site with all the codes. Didn't see a CEO on the list.

CE engines are warranty replacement or over the counter crate engines. It could have been installed as a direct replacement while your car was under warranty or could have spent most of it's life in a taxi or dump truck.

The code cannot be decomposed to determine the inner components of the engine. Sorry.

My '69 also had a CE engine in it when I bought it. It turned out to ba a LT-1 which wasn't avaliable in '69. Check to see if it has solid or hydraulic lifters. An LT-1 has solids.
