Default cam install question....????

Been here, and done this before, but Cloyes was closed for the holiday, and no instructions w/the timing chain as to the dots to be aligned at the top/bottom of the cam sprocket,or the way that I did it,and the crank at the top,and the cam sprocket at the top.I went thru the crank rotation, and the exhaust valve wasn't moving coming up on TDC,so this is the compression stroke on #1,then rorate in 90 degree turns, and run thru the firing order.I'm good, right? This is a customer's car,and no room for error,so I started second guessing myself.
Thanks.....and Happy Memorial Day.....

No offense, but isn't this a basic engine building question that we learned i the 3rd grade? hahaha, just kidding. Did you want to see it written in words, to see you know what to do? How long have you been doing this? Put your head down, go do what you know how to do and the job'll be done for a cold beverage at closing time. Trust your instincts, they remember how to do it!!!!
Just a little fun before the holiday, have good one!!

Crank sprocket dot at 12, cam at 6. Degree wheel on the crank, dial indicator on #1, match the specs at TDC to the cam card. Make sure it's 4* advanced unless you have a custom grind cam with a different built in advance.

And Tank is right. JUST DO IT

With the #1 piston at TDC, #6 is also at TDC. To determine whether #1 or #6 is in the firing position, look at the #3 intake valve - if it is open, #1 is in firing position; if it's not, #6 is in firing.

Why? Because of the firing order, 18436572... With #1 firing at TDC, #8 is moving up on compression; #4 is at BDC with its intake valve nearly closed; #3 is half way down on the intake stroke with the intake valve virtually full open.

Thanks fellas for the replys, and the above is what I was looking for.I did it right, but did start second guessing myself.I marked everything, and had it on the number one cylinder top when shutting down for removal, but the lifters didn't want to come out easy, and had to turn the engine over by hand, and lost TDC.I had the dots lined up,and went thru the rocker adjustment in 90 degree turns. To make it worse...bad battery,so everytime I have to bump it working alone...have to rob battery from the 75.
Thanks for the replies, and Happy Memorial Day!
