Default Ignition Module

Ignition Module 81, orig distributor.

Looks like I need a new one.
Anything new on the technology? I.E. better than Delco.

Any and all experiences and recommendations needed.

I bought a DUI ignition module when I bought the DUI coil. Ignition module lasted about 3 years and then died on the road. Put the original module back in and its worked fine. That makes it 24 years of use. Maybe I'm living on borrowed time?

DUI?

Stick with an OEM Delco EST module. They're more electrically robust, and the technology they're made of will put up with heat better than the aftermarket stuff.

I have used a crane HEI replacement module for about 7 years with a Hypertech high output coil. The coil died on the road and hypertech replaced it free but I still worry about both. I used a GM module and Accel supercoil for 20 years prior to the change with zero issues.
