I have a 1968 4spd no AC with 383 stroker. I am using a Mighty Demon carb with Edelbrock fuel pump. I have my return fuel line plumbed by the carb.
I wanted to add an elect fuel pump to presurize the line from the tank to the pump to avoid vapor locking in city traffic. I also purchased a phenolic spacer and alum shield that I will be putting on tonight.
What brand should I investigate. After reading numerous threads Holley's dont seem that good also and installation tips ie: what location near the tank and the use of rubber mounts?
Run a good mechanical and you won't have a problem. Iran a Mighty Demon for a couple of years with a Holley mechaniccal pump in some very hot weather and traffic and no problems. Why add the complexity of an electric pump if it is not needed. Billions of miles have been run with just a simple mechanical pump.
if your concern is possible vapor lock, use a mechanical pump with the correct fuel return lines, route them away from heat sources, Install carb heat Isolator plate
electric pumps are almost always a pain and or noisy.
