The top cores we're all blocked off..
Are these originals 3 core?
The radiator was FULL of bugs and debris from 30 plus years of use...
The replacement is a pl 433717 proliance.
And now the New one...
The fit is perfect so far.. Just need to install tranny lines and shrowd.
All in all, a good deal... my radiator support had no rust and was solid as a rock. The rubber are still soft and have no cracks.
The only issue with removal was the upper tranny line: The nut was frozen to the line still after 2 days of soaking in penetrating oil... I just cut the line and will replace.
FYI.. the car NEVER overheated once.. on the highway or in traffic...
with my 82,000 mile l48 or the vortec / scat 383 that's in it now.
Amazing Isn't it...
I'm somehow not surprised it made no real difference in the cooling. How much air flow do we really think you can get at the very top of the radiator with them canted over at the stock angle? Kind of makes sense to me it didn't overheat.
However, I'm sure your temps will go down a good bit with the increase in coolant capacity and a better thermal transfer from the new unit.
