i bought a 3hp mini starter from white performance and I notice the solenoid has only two terminals and one spade terminal on it. Which lug do I place my positive cable on? This leads me to ask will I have to modify by starter motor harness since there is no provision for the small purple wire. Anyone have any ideas???????? The mini starters from the late 90's suburban and others cost more.
I just got off the phone with Charlie at White Performance and he said that Chevy made a change after the 67 models that will allow for the purple wire to not be connected.

Tape it up and give it a try?
79. I sent a private message to another forum member who has a 79. I didn't hear anything from him. I spoke with another person other than Charlie or Travis. I will call them again tomorrow and specifically ask to speak to either one of them. I had not put it under my vehicle yet. I bought it this past Thursday.

Look at the 2 large lugs on the solenoid. One of them will be next to the starter and have a wire or lead going into the starter.
The other large lug will have nothing attached to it ...put you pos cable on this one
Put the purple to the spade on the solenoid.
Hi Oldguard, sorry I didn't get a chance to respond quickly. I was installing a C4 blower and doing other AC mods.
These guys seem to be right from my skimming. There is really only 1 lug on the back of the White Performance starter. It's at the very top of the solenoid, and there is nothing connected to it. That's where you connect your battery. The lug below it has a black ground wire that connects the solenoid to the motor, LEAVE THAT ALONE! :] There is also a male spade terminal on the solenoid, which is where you connect your starter solenoid/ignition wire. This starter grounds through the block so make sure you clean off the block a bit if it's greasy where the starter bolts to it.
