Looking for comments on converting factory points distributor to Pertronix II #91181 on a 1970 454 Automatic. I need to know if this is in fact the correct kit for my application and success others may have had.

I saw in your other post about the TI question.I may have it sold, and should know today, but I have a complete TI setup from 68 BB for sale over in the parts for sale section.550.00 shipped.
I've installed a couple of these; that kit is correct for your '70.
It's been trouble-free on the ones I've installed. I put one in my '72 Chevy C-10 with a 375HP 350 a few years back and it's been perfect. This system is about getting rid of points and is not a performance improvement - the limitation in the system is still the stock coil.
The original Ignitor suffered from failures if the key was left on but the engine was off...but this is fixed in the II.
I think I have a brand new PII and Pertronix Ignitor coil which I bought and never installed as I decided to go HEI. If your interested PM me I will let them go cheap!.
Installed the Pertronix on my 1972 454 Corvette (installed 2004) and it works excellent after 5 years. Starts better, idles better and has more power.
I have installed these on my 1968 Camaro (installed in 1998) and my buddies 1965 Mustang (installed in 1999), each install went well and ran excellent since.
