Default AC restore.

Since the house is pretty much done I finally had a chance to repair the leaking intake manifold on my 77 C-3. While I had it off I got the AC compressor bracket welded up, it was cracked, and ordered a new AC compressor hose to replace the cracked one. Everything is there but I am wondering how to begin to get it all working again. The hose and bracket have been cracked since I bought the car. 5 years ago. While I had the compressor out I let the oil drain out and got very little. I live in CT so I don’t really need the AC but it would be nice to have working. I’m thinking R134 is the way to go since like I said I’m in CT.

You can't simply put R134a in your system without changing some of the hardware. Find an auto mechanic that can service R12 systems; have them do a complete purge/evacuation of your system and recharge it to required specs. Conversion to the R134a refrigerant would be too costly, IMO. If the work is done properly, it should last you for many years.
