Default Valve Seals gone?

Hi Guys, new here so need a bit of advice....

Picked up my 1st 'vette a few months ago - solid original car, 2 owners from new, 79k on the clock.... very little mileage over the last few years.

Drove it home after buying on a 340ml trip, and since have noticed that she has been blowing blueish smoke out the right exhaust pipe at aroud the 70mark when I left off the accelerator.

Lately, it starting getting worse and seemed to be when I was accellerating at all.... not loads of smoke, but enough to see in the rear view mirror.

Got a friend to tail me on a recent trip so see just how bad it was while driving, and here is what he saw:

1. During normal driving, small amounts of blueish smoke.
2. When I kick down and pedal to the metal, the car is blowing a browny type of smoke
3. When I take the foot "off" the pedal at around the 70mph mark - she blows a good bit of blueish smoke and I can see this in the rear view mirror.

Interesting thing is, all the smoke seems to be coming from the right exhaust pipe.

Checked the oil level after the trip and found that it had used 3/4 of the range on the dipstick for that 344km trip. That aint normal.

Dropped the car into my mechanic today to do a compression test, and turns out all cylinders are 100% - he reckons the valve seals are gone hard given the limited amount of mileage the car has done over the last few years... oil was changed even if the car covered less than 1k miles throughout her ownership.

So, question is can I use an additive with the oil to stop the oil burning, or am I better off replacing the seals.

What seals should I use (stock engine, edelbrock air intake, Dynamax headers etc) and can they be replaced with the heads on?

thanks for reading!

The seals can be changed with the heads on. Pretty limited with the seals to use. It's just an O ring. It's a nice afternoon job with the peoper tools
