1980 pillar post weatherstrip and windshield trim rebuild reinstall
Please help.
Here's what I have fo both the driver's and passenger's side:
A. New pillar post weatherstrip (CRC form Willcox)
B. New inner and outer clips (Willcox)
C. The trim piece that the weatherstrip slides into, blasted and painted
D. The trim piece that covers the side edges of the windshield, blasted and painted
E. Rivets for the inner and outer clips
F. 3M Weatherstrip Glue
G. Butyl strips (for between the 2 pieces of trim
H. New screws to attach the trim / weatherstrip assembly to the car
Here's a few questions I have to start:
What trim pieces (C and D) go on the driver's and passenger's side of the car?
What order do I assemble in?
How are the clips (B) position on the trim (C)?
Do I assemble all this stuff before I put it on the car or do I install the windshield trim on separately?
Any pictures will help
Thanks again for the help,
Rob

Melting Slicks
You can put them together outside then just goop and screw them in. be sure to have a screw hole alignment reference, as the goop will make seeing the holes impossible.

Hi Rob,
On my 71 I put everything together without any glue or sealer to see how it was done and how the pieces fit. Then I took it apart and put the glue and sealer on, and reassembled everything.
A copy of the 80 AIM would be a big help!
Regards,
Alan
