Default replacing control arm bushings

Anybody know the easiest way to get the old bushings out of the control arms? tried heat, a hammer, make shift c clamp, and nothing. The auto part stores have no idea on the part I'm needing. Any help would be great, thanks, Brian

You can also remove them by cutting off the flanged area of the bushing retainer(The cylindrical shaft where the bolt goes through). you can cut on the inside of the large washer and cut off the end of the retainer. This will allow you to remove the rubber components. Then you will have to remove the metal bushings. This can be done by prying them appart. Be very carefull not to bend the trailing arm as you are prying them appart. heating the traing arm around the bushing will make it a bit easier. when reinstalling the bushing, I use a spacer on the end of the traing arm to prevent it from callapsing. good luck.

Burn the rubber with a propane torch and poke it out with a screwdriver. Cut the metal sleeves with a hacksaw or sawall just enough to bend them so they loosen up.
Watch the burnt rubber. Get it on your feet and its worse than grease in the house.
