Identify GM Heads???

Identify GM Heads???

Visiting a friend, I found a disassembled Chevy Small Block Head with the numbers 3790010 (I hope I remember that correctly).

Can someone please help me to identify what this engine was originally for?

ISn't that your block casting # I'm pretty sure thats what my block is.

*edit* block is 397 not 379.... sorry
www.Mortec.com says nothing about that number for heads

The number you quoted is indeed a block casting number .Recheck numbers on head .Post and i may be able to help. :blueangel:

Must be getting old i looked at that number again.3970010 is a correct casting number .Have no clue on 3790010.
