Definitely pump gas and no steroids. The relatively low launch RPM and the cushioning effect of the automatic trans does help extend the life of the rear end; even so, I keep my track time to a minimum....I want it to last.

Wow - good time!

I think you should change the decal on your air cleaner to "327" or "350" - Then watch them try to figure out what's going on...

CONGRATS KEN!!

As usual, your car is freakin flying....all this during the summer no less....

I hate to tell you this but.... I will be modeling the build of my vette after yours. My goal is a reliable 10 sec car with AC and streetable on pump gas. Your car is THE ideal street car....

BTW...how do they let you run with no cage? I won't be caging mine either but here, 11.49 or quicker and they shut you down.

The E.T. actually surprised me, too, being an 80 degree humid day. I'll have to try again on a cool day or evening to see if it goes quicker.

I only run on Test & Tune days or track rentals when Officials are lenient. If you enter a class for competition, though, they will ticket you. Also, if you're too blatant even in "test & tune", they will politely tell you get the proper safety equipment after your first run. Only one car got banned the day I was there......believe it or not, he tested his sleeper-looking station wagon: he went down the track faking an innocent looking no helmet ride when he hit the nitrous and went through the traps at 141 mph in the 9 second E.T. range. Track Officials were not amused..... but they did award him "bragging rights".

Ken I bumped your thread so I could compare your incrementals to mine.....It seems with both have the same back half gain....Just yours is way better up front..... You are .08 quicker in the 60', 1.5 tenths quicker in the 330's and over 2 tenths quicker in the 1/8....... that ofcourse yields an easy 3 tenths quicker in the 1/4. Our MPH is similar, yours is 1 mph faster in the 1/8 and in the 1/4.....Your car is just much quicker in the 330' and that is the difference....

I will have to work on that....your bad *** little small block is making me look bad.....

.....Seriously though....I have just ALWAYS admired your car's stock-ish theme and great performance and trying to get mine close to yours.....Not sure I will get it there but....I'm working on it.

BUMPED AGAIN!

I'm gaining on you....slowly but surely...

You still have me buy a full 1 tenth in the 1/8. I'm gonna have to find that somewhere. I can MPH with you now but your car still ETs better.

Im gonna follow your lead (as usual) and look into a big carb...probably a Pro Systems 1000....hopefully I'll be 6.60s next Fall...I would love to throw down a 10.49999999 in good winter air...

I can feel you creeping up on me, so I guess I can't rest on my laurels for long! A couple things (including a Pro Systems 1000 carb) are in the works. Can't do anything until the weather breaks. Your engine characteristics will mph you more than mine due to your torque output.....mine depends more on gearing.....different solutions for the same outcome! I'll definitely wait for a cool day,too....that should be worth 2 tenths.

Yeah I had REALLY good air last friday....like -1000'. My best 1/8 was 6.75@103.88 mph.... I only got to make 1 full pass because my tranny was going away and wouldn't shift without hitting the limiter... I went a 10.70@127.99 but only a 6.88 1/8@103.10 on that pass..... If I would have had my best 1/8 incrementals it would have gone a 10.57@128.79....BUT it didn't do it so....it dont count... I will have to wait until next Fall to try it again. Now its back to cruiser mode for the Summer with my AC blasting...
