.....was achieved Sunday (June 6), at Quaker City Raceway. The local chapter of the Hollywood Knights hosted their annual track rental day for all who wanted to "test and tune" their vehicles (even snowmobiles were racing).
I knew traction would probably be an issue, but I did get a good hook and was rewarded with a new quickest time of 10.46 seconds!
What was in the adjacent lane? You had him beat everywhere.
Obviously it had plenty of power with the 133mph trap speed... just couldn't get it to the ground though I guess. What was it?
Could you post what size tires you did your run on and what RPM you hit going through the traps? I just looked at your sig. and that is a real sleeper like already posted. Impressive!!!
Ollie....I thought you fell off the face of the earth! What's up?
Sorry for the hijack....

I've been busy with the new house (remodelling) and other things (I'm also back playing competitive table tennis and I'm now #25 in Florida and was #16 three weeks ago).
The new house is 4200 sq/ft with a attached 1600 sq/ft 6 car garage and it's a lot of work remodelling that size home..
I have had no chance to do anything with the race car for months now.. The car hasn't run since last year and I haven't even had a chance to get some fresh race gas yet. My motivation is also not to great.. There's no more Corvette Challenge around here and the South Florida Challenge requires mufflers and I will not install any mufflers.. I rather sell the car than putting a muffler on a race car.. If I can get the car running again, I might be doing some racing in the Fall/Winter.. Never ran a bigger shot in the car, so I never found out what it would run with the full 250 HP shot... My NHRA license and chassis certification is still valid for another year.. Hopefully I'll get to race again this fall..

Your Vette looks all show and no go, bet it surprises allot of people
Motor head, when are you and Dave going to get your track time slips? I keep thinking about going to the nearest NHRA track about 75 miles away, but at nearly 4400 feet times would suffer. On a hot day It had 8600 feet ADA
Thanks, all, for your compliments. Some of the info is answered in my signature, but to answer a few questions:
My track tires are MT ET Street drag radials, 235/60R15 (26" tall), inflated to 22 lbs. I ride just through (past) the water, heat them up then chirp to the line.
TH400 Trans, 2900 stall: footbrake to 2000 rpm, then let it flash on last yellow. (Flashes to 4300 rpm.)
4.11 rear gears, stock rear end, 3" aluminum driveshaft; trap speed about 7000-7100 rpm; shift religiously at 7000 rpm through the gears.
BTW, the car in the adjacent lane was a supercharged ZO6 .....AND RED TO BOOT! 505 hp plus whatever his MagnaCharger was adding......I thought I was going to get smoked!!

Yes, some people just walked over to the car, looked at it, and shook their heads in disbelief. There were quite a few Vettes running that day, but mine was the only C3.....all the others were C5 or C6's. C3 fans watching my "old school vs. new school" matchup gave me the big thumbs up when it was over.
Dang dude, that's a heck of a car and some incredible times for a smallblock street car. That was on pump gas, no power adders? And stock rear??!!! WOW! I can't imagine that rear is going to last long with that setup. Way to represent us knuckle-draggers!
From: Who says "Nothing is impossible" ? I've been doing nothing for years.

I'll say and blowing the doors off a S/C Z06 to boot, would have loved to see that
George I am trying or sell my Turbo PT Cruiser for a track car I have over 50 grand tied up in my Vette and I am not sure it is ever going to see the track, I did lots of racing back in the Shirley Muldowny / Don Garlits days in my '70 Cuda. I would be on the return road eating a sandwich in this Vette by the time the Cuda went thru the lights at the top end.

That is sweet that you beat an LS 427 motor with an old 23* head motor and even more so since you were naturally aspirated. With his MPH, if he hooks, you might be in trouble.
I'm sure mine won't be as fast, but with the new 4-link and detroit locker, I should be able to launch it hard with slicks! and no more broken spindles..watch out for that and you better have a trailor with you man, lol.
