4th of July weekend or Christmas day ?? Highway or city ?? A/C on or off ? Towing a camping trailer over the hills in West Virginia........or..... wait....., it's a Corvette...forget about the trailer scenario. Anywhere between 180 and 210 is "normal"..... I guess.

you need to know what theromstat is currently in the car
without knowing that you should be in the range of 160-210
orginal radiator?, everything stock ?, radiator seals in place ?
same temp in traffic and highway ?
Ideally you should be about 180-190

I don't have AC. I was just wondering. I normally am running 0n HWY about 190, in town and standing still up to 210. using IR on radiator hose am around 205.

Running a 454 that is 0.030 over with ProComp aluminum heads. I had a similar questiton posted some time ago due to running around 210 all the time (actually, if it ran 210 I was glad, as it slowly kept creeping past that but I would reach my destination to see where the temps finally rested). None the less, I am running a flex fan and electric fan for traffic. I am all about the fan shroud, but I have to admit I do not have the sides and top sealed with any type of gasket. I found that my problem was an unplugged port on the carb. Once plugged it, I run around 190 all day. I have yet to take her on the highway, but I'm hoping to maintain that temp. I also run with the dizzy on the full vacuum port. I have the original radiator. It hasn't been over 90 yet, so I'll see where she runs in the next few weeks.

My 68 427/390 runs about the same temps in the summer. In cooler weather months it stays about 180.

I would go further than "pretty good", I might even say "perfect".
