Default Theoretical water pump/heater core question

If a heater core completely clogged up and resulted in zero flow through that part of the system, would it be harmful to a c3's waterpump in any way whatsoever?

Thanks

No but if you're heater core is clogged what's running thru the rest of you're system. The same corrosion and debris that clogged your heater core will eventually harm you water pump.

It was just a theoretical question regarding the function of the waterpump, mine is not clogged, but I know what u mean.

Some (not all or most but some) have a valve that stops the flow of coolant through the heater core, especially on air conditioned cars.

At some times I agree with Lars and his closing statement here. You have to wonder how many times these questions have to be asked? And replied to?

Is that a real question or are you just being rhetorical?

Paul74, as long as the question is being asked by new people it's not so bad. Especially since the search function is questionable at best.

If on the other hand the same person keeps asking the same questions then it gets annoying.

Besides, it means the hobby is still growing when new people ask the same questions that have been answered in the past.

Ya know ... I too get weary of same old questions & often get cranky about em ... but ... the way you've explained it I've gotta agree w/ you. I think you've got the right take on all of it. I'll try to adjust. Thank you.
