IS THERE ANY THING OTHER THAN POR 15 FOR THE FRAME,I KNOW POR 15 IS GOOD
I prefer RustBullet. It is a very tough coating and requires less prep work than POR. Cost is about the same when you add in all of the stuff that you need for properly using POR. RustBullet can be topcoated with any kind of paint also.
One Step - The Rust Killer has worked great for me. Very reasonably priced--I think I paid $34 for a gallon. Brush or spray 2 coats, takes paint beautifully. We have 3 cast lanterns as decorations out on the patio, they rusted to beat h*** the first night we put them out. Hit them with a wire brush and 2 coats of the One Step. Dried to a cool-looking black with hints of copper color, so the wife said "don't paint them." This is the 3rd season they've sat outside 24/7 without any rust.
Different stuff. RustBullet is more like $34 per quart. It takes a little more than a quart to do the frame with 2 coats. I used the rest for suspension parts, rocker channels, etc.
It depends on the rust in your car. If it is the type of rust that you would use POR-15 I prefer Eastwood's "Rust Encapsulator. It comes in spray cans or brushable cans. I just used it on my frame of my C3. I have minor surface rust that I can wipe off with a cloth and that is what those are for.
Get Eastwood's catalogue, they have restoration under control.
I used a POR 15 till I found rust bullet. Both are very good products, but POR 15 turns out to be a little more expensive because you have to buy the prep materials. It also requires more work. RB is really easy to use.
Rust Killer and Eastwood's rust encapsulator are the same chemical (urea formaldehyde). 3M also makes a product with this chemical that you can get at the hardware store, but it's more expensive.
I've only used the one product (The Rust Killer) but from what I've read, it seems like pretty much everything mentioned here works well.
