I need to replace my balancer. One of the holes is stripped out. I went to zip and saw there are 2 kinds of 8" balancers. One for hiprf 350 and one for base 350. I have hiperf L46 350. Other than 100 bucks difference. What is the difference?
I'm assuming the high-perf one probably weighs more. I think it keeps the motor in better balance on a beefed up motor than the stock one. I'm not sure of that though.
Unless you are going for a correct reproduction, before I spent that kind of money on a "repro-damper" I'd go with a Fluidampr, Streetdampr. They are about $160.00 from Jegs or Summit.
mick,
Just for "kicks" get a price from your local auto parts store NOT a pimp boys or one of those, but a "real" auto parts store, you might be suprised or pick up a copy of one of the "stock car racing" magazines, there are lots of companies selling new Chevy parts, you would be surprised what Chevy stuff costs when you DON`T say "Corvette"
