I checked the switches, and pluged in a new motor without installing it and the new motor wouldnt work. Im assuming a wire is broken or unpluged. My haynes manual shows a power window relay under the consol, but I couldnt find it. The right side works fine. Is there a separate fuse for each window? I hope I dont have to tear the door apart. Its dark in there, and im afraid.
Are you grounding the new motor? The motor uses the door and mounting brackets for the ground so if you are testing it on the harness you must run a ground from the motor to the door. Use jumper leads to ground the new motor to a verified ground.
I would then run a continuity test on the wires from the motor to the switch.
There is not a relay on this system. This schematic should be the same, (if not someone correct me).

Tried the grounding trick and still nothing. I did a continuity check from the switch side and got a reading, but when I did it from the motor connection socket, I got nothing. Is there a place under the dash that I have to get to? or do you think I should go after that wire harness in the door. I really appreciate your input.

If you tested the continuity from the motor connection to the switch on both sides and it failed, you have a broken wire. Did both sides Up/Down fail on the continuity test?
Check inside the door opening where the conduit is located and see if the wires are not cut or pinched. Then you’re going to have to find that break in the system wires. It would be a direct wire from the switch and I’ll see if I can’t dig you up a wire route on this.
I did the test from both switches but not both motors. The drivers side works fine. Both sides (switches) made the needle jump. The motor connection gave no read at all.

Forgot to mention that I did pull the boot off to examine the wires, but its so tight in there I really couldnt tell much. It looked ok to me. I was a little disappointed that I couldnt see any connector plug for easy access. Would I be able to see anything if I pulled the kick panel?
Okay, as it turns out. It is the motor, and not the wiring. I do have the new motor ready to go.
What I dont understand is that apparently, I am supposed to get the window to roll down half-way until I can put a bolt through a hole in the regulator assembly. This is supposed to hold the assembly in the proper position while I take the motor out.
The problem is....if I could roll the window down I wouldnt be doing this in the first place. The instructions also mention that if I dont do this step before removing the motor, I will run the risk of putting a hole through my door. or injuring myself.
