brakes stopped working?

brakes stopped working?
i was driving home today after a nice long drive and a deer shot out in front of me.
i had to slam on the brakes and i missed it by inches.
the brakes did their job.
however, the next time i stepped on the pedal the brakes hardly worked at all, so i drove the 2 more blocks home.
my brakes hardly stop the car now even tho i have good pressure at the pedal.
i looked at the master cylinder, wheels, junction block and i see no signs of a leak.
any ideas what my problem is, or how i can fix it?

Try bleeding the brakes and see if that helps. If you get air out of the calipers in the back it could be a run out problem. If your pedal goes back to normal be careful of the next few rides because if it is a run out problem the brakes will fail again after so many miles. PG.

Is your pedal pressure real hard? You may of blown out the diaphram on your power brake booster. There is also a filter in the line that goes between the booster and the connection on your manifold that will fail. If thats alright I would check the proportioning valve mounted down on your frame.
