Default Door Ajar bulb won't light up.

Changed the left front courtesy switch, there were two wires attached to that switch. Connected the white wire and the lights go on and off properly. The second wire to that switch was black, when I hooked that one up the Key Warning Buzzer would sound with or without the key in the lock cylinder. When I closed the door the buzzer would stop. My guess is that the lock cylinder and or the key warning switch is bad. Not going to fix that right now so I disconnected the black wire.

Than I went to the door Ajar switch and replaced it. (Old one had no plunger) The light still does not work. What should I check next?

74 with the factory alarm disconnected at the fender switch.
Light in small compartment behind seats is unplugged at the connector.
Seat belt interlock unplugged under the seats.
Thanks, PG.

First pull the door ajar switch back out and with the key turned on ground the lt bue wire and see if the light works.

If it does light up then try grounding the the lt blue to other wire which should be white and see if it lights up.

Removed the left side switch it does not light up with a jump to ground. Attempted to check the right side but there is not enough slack to get to the wires. Is that the access panel in front of the rear wheel? PG.

If your temp gauge and fuel gauge work then that means you should have power to the bulb in the dash--bulb could be burned out or the lt blue wire that you grounded is not connected to the bulb via the harness.Do you know where the rear harness connector is in the left kick pad under the dash ?

No sure about the connector, but I saw some connectors in there yesterday when I changed the courtesy switch. Temp and fuel guages work, maybe I'll check the bulb first. PG.

The rear harness connector is easy to find its very near the hood pull cable and will have 12 wires in it 2 rows of 6 . Pop it apart and look for the lt blue and ground the side that goes into the dash-if the door ajar lights up then you have a break in the lt blue going to the door ajar switch.

Thanks again Roger, you gave me a few good hints. It's 93 here today and the driveway is in full sun. I'll let you know how I made out in a few days. PG.
