Is there a difference? I have heard that the oil galley area near the base of the distributor is a little different. I think the BB one only has the groove machined for half the way around the shaft, while the SB one is machined all the way around. I have also heard that it really doesn't matter and either one will oil both sides of the engine just fine. Does anyone know for sure?
Thanks. That is what I thought. So, why DID they make some distributors with the oil passage machined all the way around the distributor shaft and others that weren't? Any ideas?
John,
You are correct (sort of) `65-66-67 BB distributors did not have that groove machined all the way around, something with the rear cam bearing that was changed (corrected) for`68. The mid-year distributors are some of the most valuable. .....redvetracr
