Here are some pics of my 79 before it got disassembled. I was very heavy into stereos at the time, I had the stickers and everything. I took 'em off when I started to get followed home. The system wasn't complete at the time, hence the one missing amp. I did an unofficial 142db with the mic positioned on the passanger seat.
Hey Stingy74,
What's the story on your '79? Why did it get "disassembled"? What did the stickers have to do with people following you home?
The 79 had a very rusty frame. I drove that car for about 3 years before we stole the drivetrain and interior. Some guy bought the body/frame for $1000. Car stereo theft in my city is a problem and if you've got the stickers advertising the goods your asking for trouble. I think those pictures are of 97 vintage.
I tried a similar setup in the 74 and tore it out immediatley because it sucked. Having the subs face up towards the back window created the perfect environment for them to work in. The 78-82 cars are best for the db drags in my opinion. When I cracked the windows or opened the doors it went even higher. A guy was explaining to me once of why that happens. Some cars are the opposite though. It's loudest with the cabin sealed off.
