Default Diff mount question

My freshly resealed, clean differential went back on the frame today. I cannot approach the AIM recommended torque on the front carrier mount bolt for fear of rupturing my brand new bushing... it "swells" alarmingly (1.5 times relaxed diameter) at "still drawing it up" torque. Should I continue to tighten until the torque is met, or procure a Nylock nut and stop before the bush is split by the crush of tightening? Thanks, and thanks to those who serve as well!

My poly bushing is just mounted tight - no crush.

Didn't the original bushings have a sleeve in them that would allow you to tighten them up and not destroy the bushing in the process?

I'm doomed to dial-up so photos take hours. The bushing kit is from VetteRX, standard not urethane if that helps. I learned on some urethane shock bushings that compressing those results in destruction!

i think you're missing the sleeve that limits compression.

I agree as 2 previous poster have stated, there is an inner metal sleeve that goes through the bushing that won't allow the doughnut to collapse, just allow it to crush properly.
