I have a new holley carb 850 cfm double pumper which will not give me a pump shot to start the car. If you prime it with fuel it starts and runs/drives great, but it will not give me a initial pump shot to get it started. Fuel pressure, bowl levels, etc look good. Linkage looks likes its moving freely. Adjusted the pump arms with no luck. Any ideas?
There is no pump shot if it is not running, cold or warmed up. If i dump some fuel in it and start it, everything works great. Fuel pressure is fine and fuel in bowls is right at the bottom of the sight plug.

so do you think the fuel pressure is creating the squirt?
So the pump diaphram is cracked?
Check ball stuck?
a simple pump, check it.

this would'nt be the first time a brand new holley had to be torn down...
make sure the pump screws are all tight. It could be sucking air when cold. If that doesn't help take the pump off and see if the diaphragm is installed right and there are no holes!
