Default Tire rub problem

Hello. I have a 1974 with a 396 Big Block. I just finished a 13 year frame off and started driving the car just a few weeks ago with about 350 miles driven so far. I noticed today that the front tires are rubbing the bottom rim of the front fenders when I hit a bump in the road. I am running BF Goodrich 255 60R15 tires. The car had a total suspension rebuild including new big block front springs. The shocks were done about 12 years ago so I am suspecting this may be the problem. I can't remember what brand they were but I am going to replace them with a quality shock. Any other suggestions or something else I should check?

A change to some fresh shocks should resolve your problem, but you probably should replace the bump stops if they are worn down. The bump stop should hit instead of the tire; but those tires may be larger diameter than stock tires so the tire hits first.
