need help. went for a cruise today and as i was driving my wiper door and headlights went up on my 72 and are staying ther. anyone know what to check? thanks, nutsy. NEVER MIND. i just found a vacuum line that came off, thanks, nutsy.
The problem is probably on the control side. This is the small hose part of the system.
I would check the hose at the vacuum check valve and move forward from there.
The next stop I would check is the T under the dash. This is where the vacuum hose T’s off and runs to the headlamp switch and the wiper door solenoid on the back of the tach. Since both sides are being affected I would start here.
It could be a loose/cracked hose on the headlamp switch, tach solenoid, over-ride switch, or actuator relay. Pretty much anything with a small hose hooked to it could cause this same problem (Vacuum leak).

Great! Not sure what chrome thing it is, I'll guess the hose came off the Check valve. If so, this probably made the car run a little better too! Glad you fixed it
