I have a 1982 corvette col. edition and its been sitting for a while, just recently got back into wanting to get it running again and it wont start.... i bought a manual and it says nothing about the electronic fuel pump. I know its the fuel pump because the relay is kicking on and the i dont hear the 2 second spray. so im going to fix it and i was wondering if anyone knows how to get it out of the tank without dropping the tank.
a short description or a long detailed description or anywhere in between on how to do this would be appreciated.
Thanks!
also i just edited this to add that i found something online can someone confirm this?
remove fuel door, rubber boot, and then sender bolts at fuel fill. pull unit up and out. fuel pump is on the end of the pickup tube in tank

Reason: new info
You might be hearing the pump prime. Just because there is no spray at the injectors, doesn't mean you have a bad pump. You can loosen the fuel line at the front TB to confirm if the pumps is bad. If the pump is good, start check connections from the ECM forward!
Buy the genuine GM Helms Red 1982 Corvette shop manual. It has a great walkthrough for troubleshooting the "no fuel spray from injectors" symptom. You can find them for cheap on Ebay or get the reprints from forum vendors.
