got a call from the shop today. so far so good on the break in issue.
my bad oil leak is fixed. turned out it was a warped oil pan that was the problem that caused the one piece oil pan gasket not to seal.

the overheating problem was good to go. there was an air bubble apparently in the system that caused a lock up.

they cranked it and ran it at 2500 rpms for 20 minutes. IR gauge verified 190 degrees the entire time.

now they are going to go ahead and put the inner springs into the valve train and send me a bill

Keep us posted on how it goes. Hopefully all is well when you get it back and can enjoy the car this summer.

Warped pan sucks.

Air bubble if it continues to happen you might drill a small hole in the Tstat to let the air pass through.

The BILL!

shop called me today and asked where i wanted the valves set at. they were putting the inner springs back in after break in. they said they normally do zero lash plus 1/2 turn but since it was a performance cam they wanted to set it where i wanted.

my reply was +1/2 is fine, hurry up with the car i am getting withdrawals
