Has anyone done this? I picked up a standard pair with the power racks, possibly 90-91, not really sure. It looks like they'll be too tall on the power racks so I may have to fab brackets so they will fit on the stock 72 racks. I'm asking because I may be over-engineering this deal and not seeing the simple solution. If you've done it or heard of it being done the info would be appreciated.
There's a few posts on here regarding this. The C4 seats aren't good for the tall folks but work well I think if you're under 6 ft tall. Someone else who has done this will be sure to answer I'm sure though.
There has been several posts, I can not find my copies I keep on my hard drive because I been wanting to do this also. Most people said that the C4 seats will fit, you just have to either modify the existing C4 brackets or add another bracket to align the mounting holes.
How would one go about getting C4 seats in good condition? I am looking for black ones, cloth, no power.
I have searched the site but could not find the specific info. I got my seats from a friend who bough a theft recovery for the drivetrain for his 50 buick project. I paid $100 for the pair but they need new covers and I don't have the controls for the power dirves. I there are vette dismantlers out there but you can also check the papers for someone parting out a car.
I took the upper part of the C4 tracks (the ones that bolt to the seat), and welded them to the C3 tracks. I fit fine at 5'10", but if you're over 6' you're in trouble.
Before you try this , check out the '79-82 C-3 seats with the 4" side bolsters. They're reallty very good, and are a bolt-in.

Yeah but where can u find them?? I also heard that Fiero seats...will bolt in as well
So Zwede, then your seats do not have power adjust, right?
Correct. No power. I don't see how the power motors could possibly fit. The seat is very high up already. You add power motors and my head would hit the t-top.
