Default 1980 air cleaner assembly question

I have a 1980 L48,and when i bought it, it has a L82 double snorkel air cleaner.it has never had the duct that sits on top of the core support,or any of the rest of the items to make this work.

since i have the whole air cleaner assembly, can i buy the rest of this stuff and put it on my L48 and will it fit and work properly or is their a difference in core supports,or will the L48 hood not let this fit right?

from what i have been seeing is the L48 come from factory with an air cleaner assembly with just one snorkel, while the L82 had two am i right

need help from you guys to let me know if this stuff will fit and work on my L48.

THANKS KILLER454

The dual snorkel is original for both the L82 and L48 as of 79.
Some of the vendors sell all you need, or try ebay. There's always snorkel parts available there.
The 80 over the radiator duct is a bit different from 79 and earlier. It's open on the top compared to closed. In fact, that's the one still available from the vendors.

The radiator support was redesigned during 1976. 1976 (second design), 1977-1981, and 1982 all use the same support - pn: 14045929.

My 1980 L48 has a single snorkel.

I believe only the L82 had the double snorkel, but I don't see a reason the double snorkel would not work on an L48.

edit: I stand corrected on the 1980 L48. Per the NCRS Tech manual the L48 was double snorkel. Mine is a single snorkel and I believed it to be original - something new to investigate. LOL.

Seems so many guys rip all the ductwork off and toss it. Next guy comes along and has to replace it, like the original poster here.
I once had it all off of my black79, but at least I kept it all.

im kinda lost on this subject,it seems that im finding that 1980 had both double and single snorkels on the air cleaner.
i am reading on some sites that 1980 was a single snorkel on the L48 and double on the L82.
BUT at the same time im seeing that the double snorkel also came on the 1980 L48 as standard equipment,so their for i dont know exactly which one is right.

either way this comes out this car has a double snorkel and i am going to buy the rest of the stuff to make this look great and right,my main concern is the L48 hood, did the L82 hood have more clearance in that area for the double snorkel duct to fit on top of the core support?

thanks to everybody on this
