The tach in my vette worked perfect, I went to start it up yesterday, and the tach shot to 1500 rpms and just stays there, If I rev it it will drop down below the zero and to to the 7000 mark on the other side.
I checked all the wires, seemed to be attached good, any suggestions on where to look next?
Your tach board is shot. Get one (I got mine from DocRebuild) and prepare to tear out your left side dash and steering wheel. Changing the board is easy. Getting to it is the challenge. BTW, tAke out the driver's seat so you can lay upside down a time or two. Make sure to read all Of the directions, especially the part about setting the needle.Ask me how I know. May the Force be with You!
It really sounds like the board to me! The tach only requires three things, signal, ground and power to function and power and ground from your description are present.
