I'm curious to know how much horsepower they'll handle. And is the hp gross, net, or at wheels?

Gene, I found the video but it is a 69. Unless you have another of a 68 I couldn't find. Great video by the way. (I like the color too) I love the sound when accelerating

My motor was calculated by my engine builder (no dyno) to have 490HP 525Tq at the flywheel. Will the T45-RS handle this? I ONLY run street tires (255/60/15 BFG T/A) so they are the weak link in the whole car. They will spin before (hopefully) anything else breaks. I will admit I drive it pretty hard sometimes but that's what the BB is for isn't it?

Txredc3, I believe the T45RS-350 is capable of 350HP & TQ and the T45RS-425 is capable of 425HP & TQ

Looked at the videos and I'm impressed. What rear gears is the yellow 69 running?? Are any floor alterations needed?? I'm definately leaning to this tranny.

My fault yes it is a 69 sorry.

I would recommend for your application the TKO spend a little more.

Correct

One small one but we send the template and sheetmetal.

This kit was designed for the lower hp C3's we see alot. Fitment is great and it will save up to $1000 over a comparable TKO kit.

I'm only 600 miles north of Kim so would be interested also. I'm guessing around the $200-$300 range.

Yes you are correct. $295 direct. Now if you are close to the border. I would recommend shipping it to a place close and brokering it yourself. you will save $100 shipping cost and brokering it yourself will cost you alot less.

We give a $150 forum discount of the 4spd to 5spd kit. We also give $250 of auto to 5spd kits for forum members.

The T45RS would not be a good choice for this setup. The RS is rated at 425 at the input (4th gear), so you are 125ft/lbs over the limit and given your admission of " I drive it pretty hard sometimes" should exclude the T45 instantly.

I am not saying it wouldn't handle it, but it would not last. I would go either TKO or wait for the T56 magnum.

Richard, thanx for the honest opinion. I was hesitant on the T45 because I am hard on it sometimes. I will do a search on the T56.

No problem, just wanted to make sure you are happy with whatever road you end up on.

When will the T56 magnum be out and how much power can it handle?

I believe the T45RS is stronger than a Muncie M20-21, so it must be suitable for a stock or mildly modified BB Corvette, right?

It is already out on the market. It is rated at 700ft/lbs, continuous at the input (4th gear).
What we don't currently offer is a C3 kit using the Magnum. We are working on it though.

I don't know what the rating of the Muncie is, so I can't comment on that. The T45RS is rated at 425ft/lbs, continuous, at the input.

I guess the question is "what kind of power does your "mildly" modified BB make"?

I haven't broke the M21 YET and I've been pretty hard on it. If the T45RS IS stronger then it might be enuf for me. HamadUP do you have anything besides just an "I believe" (or gut feeling?) to back this up? I'm not being a hardass here just trying to go to the T45RS as it is the cheaper route. If I can find something to justify it I will. Thanx.

My stock BB engine has a little higher compression and a bigger cam, with polished heads, I dont know how much all that will equal in terms of HP/torque, maybe just 30-40 HP more.

I really don't have any statistical numbers to back up my words, its just what you said, gut feeling, plus the technology jump between now and the sixties.
