I'm running 255/60/15 BFG T/A tires. 27.05 diameter. I'm getting 12-15mpg on a Canadian gallon. (Canadian gallon which is 4.55 litres and a US gallon is 3.78 litres).

elle88- I can tell you from experience that your engine will turn up to 8000 in a heartbeat. I put a rev limiter on mine set at 7500. AND a scattershield.

sorry for the hijack--

8000 rpm would make me happy! with the new L88 engine to come with strong race hardware I should be there for sure.

My main reason for an overdrive is not MPG ( even if it doesn' hurt, but I don't expect great MPG with my engine even with OVD) but top speed.
I hate to lie on my top speed when people ask... a 4.11 rear end is not the best for top speed. but with a OVD 4th gear and 8000 rpm redline, I can possibly reach a "nice" top speed for a sport car. This on the paper...of course. C3 aerodynamics and our roads are just another matter...
My Avon Cr6zz 245/60/15 are suited for hi speed too ( BFG , not)

OK I did the conversion for the US gallon. It works out to around 11.5mpg.
