I have recently acquired a new problem with my C3. The rear end of the car will slide or pull to the right when you get on it. If you take it easy it does not seam to do it. The rear seams to pull back to the left if the rps are up and you let off the gas completely. I had a friend fallow me and he says it seams to move about eight inches to a foot when I really got on it. I put the car up on jack-stands and nothing seamed loose. or broken. Any ideas of where to look would be helpful. The vette has a fairly well built 383 and a 7004r transmission.
Thanks
Motor TQ causes all cars to yaw one way under power and the other on engine braking.
You can minimize the problem with rear Smart struts, all new bushings and set rear to 1/4 inch to 1/8th toe IN rear camber try .5 deg neg on both sides with smart struts. More rear grip helps. I use 335/35/17 rears on the street.
I had an F body do this once; obviously not related to a C3 but I'll tell you just in case it can help.
I had a leaf spring bolt that holds the springs together rusted out and basically gone; the head held the rear in place on the spring, with that gone it moved back and forth under acceleration and braking just like you describe.
I had one C3 that did something similar; the 4 bolts holding the lower adjustment arms in place had loosened and fallen out, but this was different in that it was all over the place regardless of what you were doing.
