Default emission delete help

i have an 82 col ed, but as everyone knows the horses on this car are dissapointing... therefore i was wanting to know how to get rid off some emission control stuff, i dont want to strip the whole thing of emission stuff, but alot of it needs to go.

so what are the easiest things to remove off of it without changing anything major or buying anything expensive to replace with, if there is anything at all please drop some info.

THANKS!!!

Drew

Measure the pipe in and out on the converter and get a pipe the right length and same ID...slip it over the pipes after cutting that cat out of there....this you have to do yourself....hard to find a shop to do it for you...

leave the O2 sensor is place, the system will retune itself for that minor change....you maybe set the timing about 10* advance...
unless factory is that much if not...add 2* to the factory setting...

the usual tune up stuff, but after that, it gets expensive...

If you pull the cat you may as well pull the AIR pump also, its there to keep the exhaust gasses burning hot enough to make the cat work properly.
Leave the evap canister and most of the other stuff

Keep in mind that deleting the emissions hardware will gain you little or no extra HP. It's not the big bad evil monster that some will lead you to believe. Smog pump uses less than one HP for example.

If you do remove the AIR pump and hose assembly, don't forget to remove the pipe extensions in the exhaust manifold.

BREAKING THE LAW, BREAKING THE LAW. Just gotta love on how so many people feel that removing the emission equipment is going to give them some MAJOR improvement in horsepower and torque when they drive the car on the street. And if they drive it like they stole it and need that "miracle power" they gained, will more than likely need money for the tickets for driving like a fool on the streets. And how they feel that the LAW does not apply to them and there car that they only drive it ONCE a week. And if you drive it daily, with the emissions removed, You are part of the AIR QUALITY PROBLEM.

Better HOPE BIG BROTHER does not mandate tighter requirements for cars pre-1996. Some states have done it before in the past...re-instated emissions on cars that previously did not require it, so states can get federal road $$$$.
