My 1982 Corvette is having a transmission issue. Bascially it won't go in reverse. Any ideas on the issue? Any idea what it might take to fix it?
What do you mean by "won't go in reverse" ? Does the trans refuse to shift into reverse or does the car not move after you shift into reverse?
You didn't specify whether you had a 4-speed or auto but since it's an 82 I'm assuming auto.

Sorry, its an auto, and the shifter will go into reverse but it doesnt move after that.
If you hadn't noticed it slipping; then you probably have a broken part.
If it has never been rebuilt, been a long time since a rebuild, or you noticed it slipping; your piston seals are due for replacement and or maybe some clutchs as well.
Check the shift linkage under the car, it's very possible it's come loose! I had the same problem and thought possible tranny. It could very well be the linkage.
