Headlight question
I'm removing the front bumper on my 79" and I'm having bloody knuckle issues with accessing the nuts. I think if I raise the headlights I may be able to get a socket on the two nuts below the headlight. My question is: can you raise the headlights and cut them off with the headlights in the up position.

You can use the over ride, or pull down switch under the column to raise the lights and then turn the car off. Or you could just raise the lights by hand. The only problem with raising the lights by hand is you may tear one of the seals in the headlight actuator. I had this happen to my 70 just after I got it. Someone wanted to check if mine had headlight washers mounted on them, so he just pushed the lights up to see. If you go easy coming up with the headlight you should be okay I would think. I have since raised the lights several times with no effects on the operation of the lights.
