Default Snapped my hood release cable

Pulled on it and the T handle came off this time the cable snapped inside the part that goes from inside the car to the release mechanism.

How hard and how do I fix it ?

And can I get these parts easily from the vendors ?

I suggest Willcox Corvette 1-800-588-3883
The part you want is
http://willcoxcorvette.com/product_i...oducts_id=2071

and they are VERY helpful and friendly, plus they sponsor this site and have some of the flat out best prices for our vettes

I had this happen to me, the hardest part will be getting the hood open. The cable install is a breeze. I lucked out and had enough play in the hood that I could wiggle it back and forth and it popped up. If that hadnt worked there is a release lever that the cable hooks to on the drivers side. If you can get to that and push or pull on it then you will be set. Im not familiar with your year so I'm not exactly sure how to get to it.

Thanks, the hood is open, just wanted to know what was involved in putting in a release cable

I actually need just the cable can you just thread it through the existing tube ?

Yes, it just slides in. Same thing happeded to me. I would probably put some kind of lube or graphite in the tube & on the cable before you install it. I didn't and I have to push back in manually after I release. Either a weak spring or lubrication issue. It will take all of 5 min. to install. I guess I should redo mine.

FYI . . . the cable comes molded on the handle, so you actually are replacing both. The dash mount is separate unless you buy.
