Default T-top interior hold strap location

For 75 Coupe

Didn't locate location of the T-top interior hold strap (Footman latch) on the pane behind the seats. Now its covered with carpet. Oops.

I have the ones behind the seat belts installed. Just the center one above the console. Picture or measurements welcomed.

Thanks

Can anyone give me a close approximation on its location so I can start poking to find the screw holes for it.

Hi!
Had the same problem. If you disassemble the rear compartment storage frame you can slide with your hands under the carpet and so you can locate it. Take nails in the holes and press the carpet over the nails...then you should have it :-)

Yep. Get a big needle and start pokin'. The AIM will show the approximate locations for the holes. Once you find them, you can use a pencil-type soldering iron to put some small holes in the carpet at the right place. Just don't breathe the fumes and work quickly to minimize the amount of melting. (Keep water/fire extinguisher handy...you won't need it, but it is peace-of-mind.)

Who has that loop that mounts at the rear of the console? I may be blind but I haven't been able to find it. The 77 has the straps mounted from the rear, but the loop for the front is AWOL.

For the "real thing"....salvage yards. Or, you could make one up out of 1/8" diameter stainless rod. Loop the ends to make the screw mounting lugs.
