Default a/c problum

a/c still blowing cold but clutch makeing ratteling noise, can i just change clutch or do i need to change compressor

Clutch kits are easy, bolt in center and the outer clutch plate comes off, then a snap ring and you have the pulley bearing, then another snap ring for the magnet coil.....

sometimes all 3 come as a kit, you don't have to mess with the freon or front seal unless you have traces of oil slung around and a wet look compressor up front, if you have oil leaks look on the hood, and get that crap OFF OF THERE or it WILL soak into the fiberglass and affect the surface paint, use rags soaked in carb cleaner, then spray it down....use the cans with red button tops as the white is detergent based and therefore useless....

there are little shim/spacer washers on the shaft, just behind the clutch--first part off the shaft, they set the clearance between the clutch and the pulley, it's fairly critical...follow directions, I think it's like 10 mills clearance, but don't quote me on that....
