In the words of my BF, this is what happened.....all four swingarm bolts vibrated out somehow and have to be replaced. Where can we get replacements? We don't even have a spare to compare to if we go to Kragen or whereever so BF needs to know size and thread type. Please forgive me if I am using the wrong terminology! Thank you for any suggestions.....including anything we need to know to do this job....
Hmmm well I'll do my best.... whatever this arm is that is held in place with four bolts does bolt into the rear end somewhere. he wants to get locking washers or locktite--he did mention that also. Is swingarm the right term? He says this bar has something to do with traction control or something like that.
Well, there is no Swing Arm under there. There is a Trailing arm, 2 actually. They connect to the frame in front of the rear wheel on one end and to the axles on the other end. If the part in question is a Traction Related part it sounds like the Sway Bar. Its connected to the frame by 2 brackets with 2 bolts each.
Get some pics posted up, we are visually oriented kinda guys.
Hey GF... parts falling off of the underside of your new ride bodes poorly for your continued safety. Unless BF is a certified mechanic, and since you obviously have no clue what is under there... or show much interest in finding out... I suggest you call a tow truck (TT?) and have the car inspected by either a licensed repair facility with Corvette experience, or a (shudder) Chevy dealership. Who knows what else is loose under there waiting to hurt your less than knowledgeable self when IT falls off? Crashing sucks; big time.
