i want to put a better torq-converter in my 1980 vett and dont no what to get for a little more performance.
i have a 1986 corvette 350 engine with stock cast iron intake and quadrajet carb on this engine.(did not want the fuel injection on this car)
heve the t350 trany but need to buy a torq-converter any way car dosnt have one.
just running a stock cam and lifters in this 86 moter
any sugestions on what stall speed would be good for this engine?
If the engine is stock, then stick with a stock stall. I have a new in the box, stock converter, $100.00, shipped. I just put the afore mentioned Hughes Performance GM25 in my own chassis. The difference is I am running a GM ZZ383, dyno's 400+ RWH. A stock stall is all you need for a stock motor.
i agree stock stall for stock motor. going to 2500 adds a little more fun at take off and if you have plans on adding hp/torque to your motor in the near future then shop ahead now with this higher stall. is your transmission the TH350C or a straight TH350 cause you got to be carefull...converters are not interchangable between the two. i have had a few B&M,s and thrash them and have not blown one up yet.
