The TPI system was designed for the 305 SB. Ir was later fitted to the 350, where it was noted for running out of breath at 4500 rpm. The stock TPI system will physically install on your 406, but will lose even more of the rpm range.
For a start, the stock TPI baseplate, runners and throttle body are noted to be restrictive and will have to be replaced if you want your 406 to have the horsepower and torque normally associated with a 406.
