Default Brake question.....NOT bleeding!!!!

Sat. we took my car out of town, and on the way to the shop to clean it up alittle when I was slowing down pretty quick to make the turn to my shop...I felt alittle pop in the pedal at the bottom of the travel, and the brake light came on.I pushed to the floor, and the pedal came up,and the light went out.Took the car outta town on a 350 mile cruise to the mountains, and all was well, but could feel the "pop" in the pedal when I got on the brakes hard, but would recover.
Now the brakes barely work, and the light stays on.I plan to work on it tomorrow, but I popped the cap to see about the MC,and when I push the pedal in,and let off,the front back flows like it is suppose to,and the rear doesn't.If I apply fast pressure, the back resevoir barely jumps.
Replaced a caliper awhile back, and added braided racing lines,so don't think it is a line collapsing.
This is my daily driver,so need to get fixed asap.
Thanks for any input.

There is a sticky in C3 Tech/Performance about bleeding the "Breaks" (I don't know if this is a play on words) which has some good info on the proportioning valve, worth a read

This has happened to my '81 2 years in a row. 1st time it was the master cylinder seal, but 1 week after I had my mechanic fix it, he had to re-bleed the system again because it happen again. When it happened again this past spring, they just re-bleed all of the brake lines again. My guy at Goodyear (who I bought the car from) flushed the entire brake system using some machine they have at the shop to get all of the air out of the lines. I'm thinking maybe I have a slow leak somewhere thats letting air into the lines (but I don't ever lose brake fluid). My next move is to upgrade\replace the brake system.

good luck

I lost a wheel bearing assembly last summer, and replaced the whole unit from one of my parts cars, and the rotor was starting to wear, and the pads were getting thin,so replaced the rotor, and put some different pads on there, and went around the car twice bleeding the system, and seems to be fine again now,or atleast,by feel, and lot driving to pull it out front.
Mine wasn't leaking either, but another forum member told me to check the rotor run out, cause it will allow air into the system, and cause the pop in the switch valve.True enough.
Motoring again.........
Thanks fellas.

I apologize if I am not a EXPERT on every area of these Corvettes, and can save Corvette owners money on parts that i personally don't know everything about.
Actually,I could have performed this on my own w/out ANY questions, but the car was here, and I wasn't going to work on it until today,so I asked the question.I learned how to be humble years ago,and there are people smarter than I.Next time I have a question...I will pm you.I see that you have alot of answers to share all over this forum,so you must be a smart guy.Cool.
