Default Replacing #4 body mount

I need to replace the #4 and #8? body mount in my 1970 coupe. Is there a way to get at the nuts from inside the car. The nuts have broken off from the body, and i dont really want to start lifting the body.

Pull the carpet back to expose the cage nuts in the mount pockets. You may have to cut the bolt head off and pull the remains out from the top.

PITA to get to but it can be done.

On my '69 Convert, I reached in and pulled the nut out. Don't know how the Coupe works - easier or harder.

With a convert, you can reach inside the (?) box under the deck spring and pull it out with your fingers. I did it on both sides on mine. I have
skinny fingers. Or maybe you could put one of those magnetic wands in and get it out.

There's a cover plate/cage that holds the captive nut, so as long as that's in place you're not going to pull anything out. I think what you're saying is you torqued off the head of the bolt from below? What you can do is just pound the bolt upwards until the nut cage pops out. Then replace it with a normal bolt and a big washer. That's what I ended up doing except in my case, both nut cages just ripped right off when I went to loosen the bolt.

nm I re-read your post. You've already torn the cages loose, but now you're just spinning the bolt from below right? Cut the bolt head off (or just slice right through the middle and cut the bushing as well) then lift out from the top.
