I can finally not hit the brake and gas at the same time!! It only took about 2 minutes to do.

Wow! You installed a smaller foot!

Can you offer a little more on how you moved the pedal? It looks like something I'd like to do as well.

I didn't move it, I cut the brake pedal a little over 1 inch (the width of a standard plastic ruler), and added a new pad. I got it from here on the forum.

Hi DJ,
GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE!!!!
I believe Paul74 did a mod similar to yours for his size 13s.
Regards,
Alan

PS: A little pink polish on those toes would be very becoming! But then you'd need to shave your legs too. This is getting VERY ugly!

Yes, my summary of how to do it is shown in his link. (But not with nail polish.)

Whatever floats your boat, but "best mod ever"???

Thing is, many of us with manual transmissions stive to get the pedals close enough so that we CAN hit both at the same time (with precision) for the old "heel & toe".

PS: time to vacuum...

For what it provides I consider it the best mod. There had been numberous times that I had hit the brakes and jolt myself a bit when going to hit the gas.... it's a very unsettling feeling. Once I even caused the tires to spin and the rear to slide out in a turn because I hit them both at the same time... thats only fun when you actually intentionally do it. Cutting of that inch has made it more enjoyable to drive, and before I could never wear anything other than flip flops becuase my shoes were too wide to fit. It was one of those annoyances that just made it unenjoyable to drive.

I'll make sure I vacuum up the little bit of debris from cutting off part of the brake pedal.

Well, I know what MY next project will be! That's a great solution to a known problem, and sure beats the idea of heating up the brake pedal arm and moving it over! Thanks for the post!!

PS...you have some of the most freakishly long toes I think I have ever seen!! LOL!! Just kidding!

Yes, sounds more like his first mod.

Seriously? Are you a tool in real life or you just play one on the internet? Why be a dick man, I posted about something that has made me happy to drive my Vette again, and you are just being a jerk. I really don't think I'll "look back on this and laugh", I look back on this and remember why I stopped coming to this board.

And no, this was not my first mod, I've done all sorts or work on this car and I still think that this was the best thing I've done to it.

Take it easy sport. Now that you have solved your large foot problem, work on your "thin skin" problem.

DJ,
It's all in good fun. Don't take it personally. Everyone gets busted out once in a while. Just take it in stride and opportunity will arrise for you to do the same sometime (again just in good fun). Regardless, it's a good mod that took care of a problem you encountered. Someone else with size 14's just asked how to correct the same problem with a manual trans so it is good that you spread the word with your experiences. Be cool!

Hey, just noticed the rocker switch on your forward counsel panel. What is that used for (fogs/driving lights)?

Terry

Seriously dude...I really don't think patronizing comments are helping the situation. I agree with him that the poster was being a little "jerkish" with his comment, and laughing at the guy's expense. I've had the "thin skinned" comment flung my way before, and all it does is makes you not want to come back to the Forum. Take it easy on the guy. I personally think this is a great mod, and will be doing that with my car as well. If it makes driving the car more pleasurable for him....isn't that what it's all about? Fun driving experience? But be-littling a guy because he calls another guy out, is a little messed up. IMO.

You fellows/gals can poo-poo the OP and the thread but I can tell you that that mod made an enormous difference in my driving comfort and pleasure. No more driving with the accelerator and brake on at the same time.

Check the spacing of the pedals compared to stock.

Allright. I recant my position. Cutting your brake pedal with a hack saw is the "Greatest accomplishment of all mankind." Feel warm and fuzzy now?

Yes. I am warm and fuzzy. Is your post on the quality of the 2009 CorvetteForum? I hope not but what I have seen lately the answer is yes. Too bad. This used to be a pretty classy place.

Yes. I am warm and fuzzy. Tacky reply. This Forum really has gone downhill over the years.
