Default SS versus OE fuel lines

Hey Guys,

I'm getting ready to buy all the lines I need on the frame to start my body-off.

I'm debating on going with oe lines or SS, of course the SS will last longer, but will it hold it's shine fairly well.

Also who did you use and how satisfied were you with the quality based on personal dealings.

I'm looking seriously at www.inlinetube.com any suggestions?

I used all SS brake and fuel lines when I did my body-off resto. After 5 years of use, they still shine nicely and look brand new! I don't know why anyone doing a body-off wouldn't replace all the lines in SS! They really don't cost that much more; it was a no-brainer for me. I bought mine from Doc Rebuild.

I bought all my lines (stainless) from "Classic tube". They increased the size of my fuel return line to 5/16 for me. Great service and speedy delivery.

Hi 82,
I agree the SS lines have a couple good attributes.
But the flared brake lines in SS are a little more difficult to work with than the Bundy steel because the SS is very hard and stiff, so getting a good seal MAY be a bit of a problem.
I changed the front crossover line and driver's side front short line from SS back to Bundy for that reason.
Just something to consider.
Regards,
Alan
